Petrolia is a town in southwestern Ontario, Canada. It is part of Lambton County and is surrounded by Enniskillen Township. It is billed as “Canada’s Victorian Oil Town” and is often credited with starting the oil industry in North America.Lambton Central Collegiate & Vocational Institute (LCCVI) is the only high school located in Petrolia.

Arts & Culture abound in Petrolia from Victoria Playhouse, where the lobby is also an art gallery featuring the work of local artists to the stores that feature art and antiques, framing, custom photography etc. The Petrolia Community Theatre group stages 2 productions per year at Victoria Playhouse, the Library is very active with cultural programming and the Lambton Young Theatre Players showcase the talent of the young people of the community in their productions. Art in the park showcases local artists in July and if you visit in the fall, the annual Scarecrow Festival is sure to pique your interest as handmade scarecrows are strategically placed throughout town to greet visitors on their travels. Photo opportunities abound at this time too.
